Some of my earliest memories are of the early mornings when I would lie in my warm bed and hear my dad opening the back door with the noisy milk pail in his hand on his way to the kraal to milk the cow. On his return, the rhythmic sound that the milk made as it splashed around in the pail was comforting and warm and home. That was our daily milk supply!  My mother used to filter the milk into smaller containers  by pouring it through a special milk cloth and once a month we made our own butter. That was my “warm & fuzzy” experience with milk –  Cleopatra on the other hand used to bath in milk and today many hundreds of years later we know that the lactic acid in milk is great for exfoliation!
