The main challenge for any skin is dehydration or dryness. A dry dehydrated skin amounts into inflammation and inflammation in turn accelerates rapid aging. It is therefore crucial to apply a suitable moisturiser day and night. It must be part of your lifestyle plan! It is a fundamental step in your skincare routine, regardless of skin condition or your age. A good moisturizer does more than just hydrate the skin; it also boosts your skin with vitamins, accelerates new cell generation and plays a crucial role in maintaining the overall health and appearance of your skin.
Your skin (your largest organ) has several major functions: It shields you from external contaminants as it has a slightly acidic film acting as a protective barrier to bacteria, viruses and other potential contaminants that might penetrate the skin. This protective layer is excreted by sebaceous glands and is made up of perspiration from the sudoriferous glands and lipids (oil) wax ester. Your skin has an approximate pH of 4.5 to 6.2. Example, when you are using a moisturiser containing perfume, high acids or a low pH, this will disrupt your protective acid mantle (hydrolipid barrier) causing your skin to break out, inflame or become dry and dehydrated.
I previously mentioned the different phases of moisturisation. In K Phyto-ceuticals we have 4 options of First Phase moisturisers. Why is it important to start with a First Phase Moisturiser? It takes a new skin cell (depending on your age) approximately 28 days to resurface and during this resurface period your skin cells need vitamins, nourishing plant oils and cell boosting ingredients that does not over stimulate and reduces inflammation. So with our first phase moisturisers we prevent inflammation, reduce inflammation and support the skin to becoming healthy and fully functional.
Essential Daily Moisturiser and the Evening Moisturiser: Recommended for: Age Preventative, Dry and dehydrated and Mature skin conditions. This moisturisation duo contains micro dosages of Retinal Palmitate and the formulations contains Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Rooibos tea extact, Kalahari melon seed oil and Kigelia africana fruit extract.
The Hydralite Moisturiser is recommended as a day and night moisturiser for Sensitive / Sensatized skin, Young Skins, Hyperpigmentation and Problematic/acne prone skin conditions. This formulation is ultra-light, non-comedogenic and fortified with Abyssinian oil, Rooibos tea, Shea butter and Grapeseed oil.
Omega Plus Complex: Ideal for Dry, Dehydrated or reactive skin conditions. An Innovative, nutrient-rich formula consisting of a deep conditioning cream infused with a concentration of plant lipids, pure natural cholesterol and Omega fatty acids, 3, 6 and 9. This rich cream will replenish the skins moisture barrier, support natural self-repair and will leave the skin ultra nourished and moisturised.
